I'm not sure if it's the mountain-top perspective or the fiery history but I've always found the Crest House to be interesting. Add Milky Way skies leaning at an angle that compliments that unique roofline and this scene on Mount Evans really comes to life!

I have to thank the couple of unintentional light painters who drove through the parking lot - gently illuminating the Crest House for me. It may not be the best for consistency with a group, but for my purposes, it worked great! How I Got The Shot
I knew I wanted a good print quality image from this location so I did a few things that I think made a difference. With the Milky Way in a good position and time to get a sequence of images, I went ahead and shot 10 high ISO images. Then, I shot one long exposure with a low ISO for the foreground.

In Photoshop, I started by stacking the 10 short exposures. To do that, I masked out the foreground, aligned with auto-align, deleted the masks, and then converted the layers to a smart object with Median stacking to reduce noise. Then, I blended in the long-exposure foreground before adding final tweaks.
