Description
This old gas pump is part of the old art deco Conoco cafe and gas station on Texas' Route 66 in Shamrock. It’s quite amazing how well preserved this site is. It is amazing that, as the rest of the R66 infrastructure entered an undeterred decline, someone had the foresight to save a particular part. Perhaps it helped somewhat that there was no imminent upgrade waiting to replace it, no other means of revenue.
