Colebrook River Lake located on the scenic West Branch of the Farmington River in Colebrook, Connecticut. This area is control and developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The area offers lake fishing and one mile of stream fishing. The fish and game agencies of Connecticut and Massachusetts stock trout and salmon to complement the native bass, pickerel, perch, horned pout and bluegill. Great place to walk. Due to drought the levels at the time this visit were very low, as you can see many rocks and the sides of the lake that are usually under water. There was once a town and Old Route 8 that when levels are low you can see the old road and many tree trunks that once stood in the old community. At times, you may get to see the wildlife that visits the lake. There is also a dam at the end of the river/lake area.
