I've never seen so many untouched shells. What a lovely, peaceful image. Sorry to hear of its collapse a while back. Glad you were able to capture this.

This light sat on a island in the Gulf of Mexico. It is turtle nesting habitat and is managed by the Appalachicola Estuarine Research Reserve. There is a small cabin in the center of the island with a truck. They boated me out there and I had the use of the cabin and the truck for about two days as I shot images. I've never seen so many seashells in my life as there were on the beaches there. It is a shame it collapsed. They took the upper third of the light and rebuilt in on another island that is a tourist area.

Thank you Dawn. This lighthouse actually collapsed due to erosion back in about 2006.
