Title
Canyon Of Mascarat Between Calpe And Altea
Artist
Adriana Mueller
Medium
Photograph - Digital Photography
Description
View from the lower part of the Sierra de Oltà mountain towards the rock formations of the Mascarat Canyon. The ruins of a historic watchtower can be seen on the left peak. In the past, the viewpoint called Castellet de Calp served as an observation post, as this place offers excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea. It was part of a surveillance system on the Valencian coast.
The imposing Mascarat Canyon was created by Mother Nature over thousands of years through the power of water and erosion. It is located between Calpe and Altea on the Mediterranean coast. Rocks bear the marks of time and stand for the timeless beauty of nature. So this photograph is dedicated to a special place on the Costa Blanca that has fascinated and attracted people for a long time. Even from a distance, the steep cliffs of the Mascarat Canyon look very enchanting in the vast landscape.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the Alicante province in Spain. Every time I hike in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick more slowly. The local hiking area offers wonderful views of the imposing cliffs on the Mediterranean coast.
Feel free to visit my website www.montepuro.com which is dedicated to hiking trails, landscape photography and the beautiful mountains in the southeast of Spain.
