Description
Mary Raven, the photo was taken during a walk along the embankment of the Griboyedov Canal, St. Petersburg. When processing, a filter is applied that simulates the application.
The Griboedov Canal (until 1923 - the Catherine Canal) is a canal in St. Petersburg, originating from the Moika River near the Mars Field and flowing into the Fontanka River near the Malo-Kalinkin Bridge.
The canal is laid along the Krivushi river bed (another name is Glukhaya Rechka), which originated from the swampy mire that lies between the current Konyushennaya square and the Arts Square. Initially bore the name of Catherine - in honor of the Empress Catherine II, in whose reign he was equipped.
October 6, 1923 the channel was renamed in honor of the Russian playwright and diplomat Alexander Sergeevich Griboyedov, who lived in one of the houses on the embankment of the channel and became known as the channel of the writer Griboedov, and since 1931 - Griboedov's channel.
