Bodega Head
One of my favorite places along California's North Shore is pretty much anywhere along the Sonoma Coast. Bodega Head is an area near the end of Bodega Bay where the bay opens up to the ocean. This area has a very rugged shoreline and miles of hiking trails.
The area has a deep history going back to the late 1700's with logging and fishing roots. Many sports fishing boats still call Bodega Bay home along with some crab fisherman.
Along Hwy 1 are a few restaurants, well worth the time to visit. There are also a few other shops, galleries, etc. It really is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon.
