Description
Common chickory thrives in places that many plants would find inhospitable. The bright blue to pale lavender flowers highlight the Virginia countryside throughout the summer, popping up in rough, gravelly areas along the roadside and in rocky sallow fields. I've taken a photograph of this common weedy plant and romanticized it a bit, applying a number of digital filters and effects to create a soft, textured, slightly abstracted painterly image.... a slightly different spin on a common, everyday sight.
