Ashley River Memorial Bridge
The Ashley River Memorial Bridges are two bascule drawbridges that cross the Ashley River on Highway 17.
The first bridge was built in 1926, dedicated to deceased World War I soldiers from Charleston. The second bridge was added in 1961 as West Ashley grew. In 1988, the first bridge was rehabilitated.
