Arm In Arm - The Strongest Chain
Angela L Walker
Mixed Media - Acrylic, Watercolor, & Ink On Claybord Panel
When I first finished this painting, I asked my Facebook family and friends for help in getting to just the right title which would capture the essence of its visual message.
I received so many wonderful suggestions but since my niece had agreed to write a poem for this painting, she had the final decision of picking the title: The Strongest Chain (suggested by Tamika McCombs)
Arm in Arm with My Sisters
Sometimes life happens and you get a little down.
You want to smile but can only muster a frown
Your world looks gray, full of potholes and weeds
Then here come your "sisters" with just what you need.
"We've got you! We can do it! We're almost there!"
Stay focused on the Happy and march on without care.
With arms wide open, strong, empowering, full of love
Supporting forward movement and getting strength from above.
Gray skies become sunny - the bumpy path is made smooth.
Dreadful weeds become blooms- bursting with color that soothes!
Arm in arm with my sisters. Arm in arm with my friends.
Through good times and bad, from beginning to end.
Staying focused on the Happy so we can all take a bow...
Arm in arm with my sisters, *ain't no stopping us now!*
