Description
I discovered this vista of Ardvreck Castle Ruins while traveling down along the coast of the Northwest Highlands in Scotland. It had just stopped raining and the clouds were beginning to clear during a late afternoon. I quickly did a preliminary sketch to capture the large panoramic view, then shot the scene so to complete a painting back at my studio. If you look at the shrubbery just beyond the coves upper right, you will see a tree cluster resembling a dragon resting on the shoreline. This truly exists, enhancing the mystical and wonderful ancient scene of Scotland.
