My wife and I traveled though New Mexico and attended a Fiber Crawl in the Albuquerque area, in which we had the opportunity to see some alpaca farms. For centuries, New Mexico has been the home of agricultural businesses and textile industries. Recently, with the introduction of alpaca ranching to New Mexico, a new twist has been added to the traditional industries of the state. We weren't aware that alpacas could thrive in the hot dry climate. Here we see the outdoor corrals and pens with some alpacas on a hot dry day with mountains in the distance.
