When I took the original picture for this image a woman who was standing next to me said, "Why would you want to take a picture of such an ugly alleyway." I said that when I was finished the alleyway wouldn't seem as horrible as the view we were both looking at. What I saw in the alleyway was a decayed and
ugly symmetry. Eventually, I was able to take out the realism of the picture and replace it with different colors in parts of the image. I'm sure I have learned something in the process, but I may have to wait a while before I figure out what the meaning of what I have learned.
