Title
A Sign Of Spring
Artist
Ken Powers
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
Spring in Western Washington, USA always makes me think of tulips. Our area even has a tulip festival this time of year to celebrate this flower's beauty. I never really found tulips to be very interesting, however, until I started painting them. This particular variation of my tulip paintings incorporates a few other colors into the petals in order to add a bit more interest. I really had a difficult time getting this piece to accurately be reproduced in the digitized version. The original watercolor painting has such subtleties that are seemingly impossible to perfectly capture through scanning. The original piece is 10"x14" in size and is painted entirely with Sennelier's newest formulation of watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper.
