Biographical Information About: Thomas Tabor Doughty. (July 19, 1793 – July 22, 1856).
"Born in Philadelphia, Thomas Tabor Doughty was the first American artist to work exclusively as a landscapist and was successful both for his skill and the fact that Americans were turning their interest to landscape paintings. He was known for his quiet, often atmospheric landscapes of the rivers and mountains of Pennsylvania, New York, New England, and especially the Hudson River Valley. He taught himself how to paint while apprenticing for a leather manufacturer. In 1827 he was elected into the National Academy of Design as an Honorary Academician.
He worked mostly in Philadelphia, but also lived and worked in Boston and New York."

My Thomas Tabor Doughty Project.
I have decided to Digitally Restore and Reproduce all of the Known Public Domain Artworks (about +- 120 Artworks) of this American Romanticism and Hudson River School Art Master; Deo Valente. I do not know how long this project will take me but assume that it will take quite a few years. Unfortunately many of the beautiful artworks of Thomas Tabor Doughty are in a terrible state of neglect and needs to be restored from stains, watermarks, blotches, dirt, scratches, cracks, faded colors and much more. I will try my utmost best to restore these masterpieces digitally to its former glory more or less to the original state as when it was new and make it available on The Fine Art America Platform as I complete them. Some pieces will take a long time to restore others will be easier. Thank You for reading this description and if you would like to make a comment on the present Artwork Or would like to make an encouraging comment on my Thomas Tabor Doughty Project, please feel free to do so it will be Highly Appreciated. With Best and kind regards Gert J Rheeders. GJR
