30 Meeting Street, Young-Motte House
Constructed circa 1770
Thomas Young originally owned a lot which extended from Meeting through to Church Street. A masonry single house was begun on Meeting Street and was sold before completion to Col. Isaac Motte, an officer in the Royal Americans, 60th Regiment. The pediments gable and tripartite window are nineteenth-century Greek Revival alterations.
PRE-Revolutionary house which belonged to Colonel Isaac Motte, a member of the Continental Congress, with notable architectural details.
