Description
The story of my life as an alcoholic and the sobriety that I have found. My life was revolving around alcohol and I had hit rock bottom. I was homeless off and on for many years then for 5 years straight. I was waking up in the morning with DT's so bad I had to drink a couple of beers to get rid of "The Shakes" before I even got out of my sleeping bag just so I could function. Then start the day and the ever-present hunt for alcohol and money for it. "The Shakes" is what happens when you have literally been drinking for months straight and you body becomes physically dependent on alcohol. You have to have alcohol in your body or you will shake uncontrollably. Some people have seizures and can actually die from not having alcohol. Luckily I didn't, but I had given up on life, then I met my current girlfriend. She gave me the much needed reason to actually live. What I had before wasn't a life, it was a tragedy. This is an image from those depths of depression. I never want to return! This image represents the beginning of my actual life on this planet, my new wonderful life.

This looks like it should be hanging on the wall at an AA meeting. So deep.
