Description
This structure was built on the grounds of David Crockett's boyhood home. It is a reconstruction of the 1790's John Crockett tavern which served as both business and home. It is located at 2002 Morningside Drive in Morristown Tennessee
Today it is a museum that is open from May thru October with tours and some special events scheduled through that time.
Davy Crockett gained fame early in life as a pioneer, frontiersman, later to become a U S Congressman from his home state of Tennessee.
Shortly after losing re-election in 1835 his fate awaited him at the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution where he either died in battle or was executed upon being captured by the Mexican Army.
