Olivia Tautkus creates representational fusion works, which though heavily influenced by medieval European and Asian traditions and iconography, embody everyday Catholic and Christian working class spirituality.   Olivia works in a variety of mediums - from egg tempera to oils to mixed media - using solid colors and focused compositions of intense portraits in an uncluttered environment.   At home in Virginia, she began formal adult visual art classes at 13 and studied in the Governor's Magnet School for the Arts.   Her primary inspiration is drawn from classic medieval art and icons for pattern...more
