Description
This young raccoon (Procyon lotor) had been tucked away in a hollowed tree trunk while its mother hunted for food. Curiously and boredom led to the discovery of a small hole further up the trunk, which it explored by sticking out its hand. Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, eastern North Carolina.

And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
