~The Last Supper~
Over the last several months I have been working on a new project. A project I've wanted to do for many years but never felt I had the right camera gear.
I have always been fascinated with our planet and some of the things it can create through time, pressure and heat. This project shows unique creations for over thousands if not millions of years. Everyone of these images is unique and can never be replicated. Our planet really is a living being on its own.
Calcite Agate - An agate crystal forms within the cavities of other rocks in acidic to neutral environments. Its formation occurs by the accumulation of silica-rich groundwater in rock voids, over thousands of years. In fact, these chalcedony veins mostly develop within the voids of volcanic igneous rocks and plutonic igneous rocks.
Each of the subjects you see in this project were personally hand picked by me for their various unique display of color and design. While most will fall under the category of 'Abstract' some will have images or designs that are easy to pick out. For instance, this image reminded me of the Last Supper or a slight variation of it. I see 2 people with their heads faced towards each other with what could possibly be a milk jug or some other container on the table with some food piled up to the right of the person on the right.
The beauty about this is that we will all see something different in these images as our mind wanders around. This scene here is no more than 2 inches across yet the image will print well over 80 inches wide. Each image was shot with a Sigma 105 macro lens. Because it's almost impossible to get the camera and the subjects on the exact same plane, each image was focus stacked with between 10-75 images to make sure the image is sharp from corner to corner and top to bottom.
This will be an on going project for many years. I currently have about 30 finished images and as I find more subjects, I'll add to it. I hope you all have a great week!
