We found this old house and barn when we were traveling around Door County a few years ago. Door County is a photographers paradise as there are so many things to be discovered and photographed. In this particular case, the farmer had put a new metal roof on the house right next to the older barn. This house was all closed up with tarps on the windows and braces on the doors. It also looked like it was a log house. The barn had siding that was weathered and worn. The planks were at least 12-14 inches across. Not something you see nowadays. One side of the barn had split wood chunks interspersed with cement to replace the wood that had rotted out. There was quite a bit of difference between these two side by side buildings and yet they fit into the whole very nicely.
