Shortly after it’s release Billboard editors awarded it “Best New Album of the Week” in the Soul category. One reviewer commented: “This album should get the nod as one of the best live rock albums of the year...The musicians from both Santana and Miles complement each other on every track”.
The album charted #8 on the Billboard 200, #6 on the Billboard R&B Albums, and #11 on the Billboard Jazz Albums in 1972.
