A 20X30" painting, based on a black and white family photogragh which depicts my maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Taravella, known as Jimmy, at work for the New York Telephone company in the 1940s. He is the figure at the right, supervising a work crew of men wearing neck ties and fedoras to dig trenches that would soon contain the telephone cable that still connects the great metropolis.
