GIANTS AMONG US
A 14 foot gator prowls the swamp in the wetlands of Florida on a stormy day. This gator is another of my "regulars" and is one of the largest I've ever seen out there. I don't see him as often as George but when I do it's always a treat.
When I'm out in the field I always carry my video equipment in addition to my camera. A few minutes after this was taken, this alligator made his way into a forest clearing and walked across a canopy tree lined path. Alligators are the apex predator of the Florida Everglades and while dangerous, don't usually bother with humans and are naturally afraid of people unless fed. Feeding alligators is illegal in the state of Florida and can result in alligators becoming aggressive towards people.
