The photograph looks like it's width is greater than its height but the natural dimensions shown below state the height is greater than the width by assumption that the stated dimensions below are height x width. Are the dimensions listed as for example 72" tall by 48" wide or vice versa?

Maria, I really love this picture too. Gordon is an artist and a historian. This is the old train station in Detroit, Michigan (abandoned now). I believe it is called "Michigan Central Station" You can do a search on it and find lots of info. I used to pick up friends there who came by train from Chicago, New York, and other cities. It was a huge train station with many floors of offices on the higher floors. I have a good friend who worked for the post office in the building next to the train station (a huge Post Office) and took bags of mail from the trains to be sorted, and brought bags of mail to load onto the trains bound for other cities. The P.O. building is still owned by the US PO., but is used to house vehicles now. I have other friends who worked for IBM and installed and repaired accounting, and computer equipment on many floors of the building. Three people could ride the train from Detroit to Chicago for about $20 round trip. Less than the cost of gas and parking. And there were express trains that took less time than it took to drive the distance of 250 miles. Before they started pulling up the tracks, I also used to pick up my Grandmother at the trin station in Plymouth when she would come from Brooklyn, Michigan to visit us. Too much to say. Len

Gordon, The "time" exposure is just right on this picture. I used to do a lot of this at night in 35mm but long exposures seem to have gone out with the film. I also take a lot of pictures of Detyroit, mostly for my own pleasure and I've poted a few. ... http://fineartamerica.com/featured/fort-wayne-old-barracks-leonard-lukomski.html .. Keep up the good work.... Len
