Roary the Lion is the official mascot of the National Football League's Detroit Lions. He is an anthropomorphic lion, wearing a football jersey with the number "1". According to the team's website, Roary is the spokesperson for the Detroit Lions Kids Club. Roary also attends elementary schools all over the state of Michigan as part of the “Lions’ Leaders for Life” Educational School Assembly Program, a high-energy character education program designed to discuss six qualities it takes to become a successful leader.
