"Crescent Sunset h15" presents the sun setting over Tucson, Arizona as viewed from Oro Valley with the Sonoran Desert in the foreground. In the background Kitt Peak is the predominant mountain peak to the left and Twin Peaks (also known locally as Sombrero Peak) is in the center. If you look closely you will see the moon at eight percent waxing crescent appearing just below the clouds in the upper right third of the photo. Although the base exposure was made at 70 seconds, this image was created from four exposures with the foreground at just over 3 minutes, the sky with moon at 2.5 seconds and 15 seconds for the deep orange and yellow sunset tones. The exposures were combined in Photoshop using luminosity masks and layer blending techniques. ~ Oro Valley, Arizona ~ Copyright Mark Myhaver
