Description
In this photograph is the Chicago Federal Center designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1974. The area consists of three buildings which are arranged around and define the Chicago Federal Plaza. On the left, the 42-story John C. Kluczynski Federal Building, front and center is the single-story Post Office, and behind the photographer (out of view) the 30-story Everett M. Dirksen U.S. Courthouse.
Other notable buildings include the Bank of America Building (1924) on the left. The Clark Adams Building (1927) behind the Post Office. Second, from the right is the Field Building (1931). On the far right is the Edison Building built in 1909. The sculpture on the left is the Flamingo by Alexander Calder.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
