Hope you enjoy this floral display of pansies! It is set off beautifully in the sunshine, radiating color with prisms of light originating from the crystal vase. Dark shadows allow for the tender, fragile, yellow petals to be back lit. A layer of pastel colored watercolor, adding luminous glowing color to the petals is especially noticed in the shadows. This image warms my heart and making me happy! It is also an award winner.

Our CMW watercolor organization President issued a challenge to paint a painting with only one red and one blue pigment. So I researched my file for a wonderful series of photo's I had taken of a neighbor coming over to talk to me. She is one who also uses great body language. I had just loved her cute outfit and her hat too! RED it is!
And the clothing colors fit right into the theme of this challenge.
All the colors in this painting are made from one red and one blue pigment. They are mostly mixed on the paper.
Isn't it amazing what the eye can do with lights and darks, no matter the color?

Bread and Butter Caye Belize



Tropical art print from an Original Watercolor painting. Paradise greats you with blue skies, clear water & a tiny island with a turquoise shack, colorful chairs, hammocks & palm trees.

Bread and Butter Caye is a tiny island off Hopkins Belize that is only 450 ft long. It is full of good Vibes.

This little island is owned by Duane Miller, an expat from USA. He bought it when it was all mangroves, brought in sand & built a few cabanas. His island is open for public enjoyment.

Visitors can grab a bite to eat, snorkel the beautiful reefs, swim, visit with other guests & relax in the hammocks.

Enchanted Rock Texas




Enchanted Rock Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. This enormous Pink Granite Rock Formation is located near Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country. Hiking up the huge dome offers beautiful scenery, caves & amazing 360 degree views from the summit.

The rock is a protrusion of volcanic origin & part of an underground mass of 90 square miles. It is one of the largest batholiths in the USA & makes this state park a National Natural Landmark.

The name “Enchanted” was given because of the eerie creaking & groaning noises heard in the evening. These sounds are made as the rocks cool & move.

Mount Bonnell Texas




Austin Texas art print from an Original Watercolor Painting. Mt Bonnell is the perfect viewing spot to see the magnificent Austin landscape. It is the tallest peak rising 775 feet. Almost 200 feet of that elevation are 102 limestone steps up the summit.

Once you reach the top, you can catch your breath at the pavilion & enjoy the sweeping views over Lake Austin. To the west is the famous 360 bridge & the expansive Hill Country. To the southeast is the ever changing downtown skyline.

This Central Texas classic is one of Austin’s oldest attractions, dating back to the 1850s.
Mt Bonnell is top on my list of places to visit with out-of-town guests.

This square formatted image enjoys a masa paper textured background - which really allows for a great variety of color. Three little chickadee birds perch on a branch with pine needles.

A colorful grouping of rubeckia flower stems, standing tall, fill a round opaque blue vase. A lovely amount of light bounces off the petals and showcases this fall colored setting. Note the darkness that flows as purple shade under the vessel and on up the widow rail.
