What Happens To Extra Submissions?

If I add a new image and try to submit it to a group when i'm over the day's limit, what happens if I edit that image the following day with the same groups marked? does it then get submitted? or do I have to save it w/o that group & later re-edit?

To the best of my knowledge...

If you add more submissions than allowed by the group's limit... If the group admin has the group limit "set" of a number, it will tell you on the extra submission that it's over the group limit and to wait 24 hrs. Some group admins however "suggest" a group limit but have not set the number in stone. In that case it's their discretion how to handle it. I've seen some group admins say if you go over the limit, they will remove ALL your new submissions for that day. Others may or may not be more flexible.

If you re-submit something regardless of editing... the newer version of the image should "update" within 24 hrs wherever it appears (groups, discussion threads, etc.)

If your image is not "allowed" because it's over the daily limit. You'll have to wait 24 hours (Not just after midnight when the date changes to the next day).

as far as i know everything submitted to a group is put into a pool of images and the owner has to pick and choose the images going in. you can put a 1000 images in there. but you'll see zero until they put it in there. but they don't want to have to choose a 1000 of yours, which is only why 1 is allowed.

If there is a daily limit set by the group admin then, as Brian says, the system will not allow submission of extra images and you need to wait a full 24 hours.

There used to be a bug in the system that ignored this limit when an mage was initially uploaded to FAA/Pixels and the artist used the check boxes to select which groups s/he wanted the image to be automatically submitted to, but that may have been fixed now. This used to really annoy admins, even though it was largely accidental on the part of the artist.

problem is, if you're adding new images and the limit is 1, you don't get that message about being over the limit, hence my question (and those images do not show up for admin, so they don't know you tried to submit more than allowed)

from brian's msg it appears that editing will re-submit??

personally i never think twice about it. enter it, move on. there is no promise the op will even get around in submitting into the public part of the group.
