I'll start us off.



This image shows the journey of life. At the start of the climb we see green lush leaves. As we climb further it should get easier but the paths are less and the holds further apart.
The top is fragile and only death awaits. The Fragility of Life

All i know about all this is that it is celebrated to scare people and that the imagery is getting quite dark / sinister.

Time trickles away and when the final chapter is written the book of life will be closed. Fits into the time of year when all starts to decay, i think.

Who know what secret knowledge these old books might hold. Back in the medieval days anatomic studies where forbidden by the church so this can be looked at in a sinister, mystic way or in a historic way - the choice is yours. :o)

Could someone post an image of a skeleton in Charcoals? Maybe wearing a cloak? Kind of sepia-toned? I'd really like to see one. :)

It wouldn't be Halloween without pumpkins. While visiting my son's family a few years ago, we went to Lulls orchard in Hollis New Hampshire and they had piles and piles of pumpkins. The image with the baskets was taken at the Groton, MA farmer's market. I haven't carved a pumpkin for years. Maybe I'll do that again this year.....have to think about it.

@ Vanessa - I've got an image of a skeleton riding on a hearse / carriage. The hearse / carriage is a dark charcoal color ... will that do?

I think is time to bring my black cats, just in case somebody into Black Cat Art for Halloween!

This cat painting titled Insomnia, and was inspired by a photograph about my black cat Rebeka.

Another black cat painting from my Cats of Karavella Collection for Halloween, especially for catlovers, with orange and golden tones and Art Deco motifs.

This was very fun to create using an image of an old house and tree from early winter just up the road from our home, adding the pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns and moon and making the image into a nighttime full moon scary scene... Enjoy!

I took an old abandoned house (The old Lowman House) in Odenton and added paintbrush elements and effects for a Halloween atmosphere. The old Lowman House is now torn down. The original image of the house was taken in 2009.

This house located in Odenton, Maryland is actually known as the old "Lowman House" which has been abandoned since the late 70s and was built in the 1880s.

This is the last day for these images. Tomorrow I begin on Christmas images.

Hot really "scary" for Halloween, but our granddaughter created some artistically painted pumpkins for us to use as home decor. I "expanded on that a bit my making them available as wall art and home decor items. Blue and White Pumpkins surfing, on the beach and in the dunes.
Note, please, that no pumpkins were harmed in the creation of these images.

In Autumn, I came across this colorful and charming family of stuffed straw scarecrows on a bale of "hay" (play on words in the title) at the entrance of a gated community in Pasadena, Maryland.
