Please share your Halloween/Samhain images here.
Always include a good description in case Google is looking!
Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset. This is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
Halloween, short for All Hallow's Eve, is celebrated on and around October 31. Although occurring at the same time of year and having roots in end-of-harvest celebrations of the ancient past, Halloween and Samhain are not the same, but two separate holidays that differ considerably in focus and practice.

I'll start us off.
This image shows the journey of life. At the start of the climb we see green lush leaves. As we climb further it should get easier but the paths are less and the holds further apart.
The top is fragile and only death awaits. The Fragility of Life
Digital and photography image of a crow sitting at the top of a tree against a large backdrop of a moon.
The moon is digitally made and the crow and tree are real and were photographed in the large deer park at Dunham in the UK

All i know about all this is that it is celebrated to scare people and that the imagery is getting quite dark / sinister.
There is a bit i can show related to that
Time trickles away and when the final chapter is written the book of life will be closed. Fits into the time of year when all starts to decay, i think.

Smoke ascending from an incense stick forming vivid and abstract figures. In this case i can the Mephistopheles himself into the ascending smoke.

Who know what secret knowledge these old books might hold. Back in the medieval days anatomic studies where forbidden by the church so this can be looked at in a sinister, mystic way or in a historic way - the choice is yours. :o)

What could be more fitting for these occasions than a sinister looking monk telling you dark prophecies ;o) :o)

This one originally was meant in a dark humorous way. Something like this ... Dear diary, today i .... but it can be looked at from a totally different angle of course.

I do one every year, but many aren't worthy of selling. I do have these though:
Many old places hold memories, and not all of them are nice.
A long ago resident of a decrepit old manor looks out on a world she can no longer be a part of.
Not sure what's going on in that tower, but you'd better not let them find you wandering around outside...

Could someone post an image of a skeleton in Charcoals? Maybe wearing a cloak? Kind of sepia-toned? I'd really like to see one. :)

It wouldn't be Halloween without pumpkins. While visiting my son's family a few years ago, we went to Lulls orchard in Hollis New Hampshire and they had piles and piles of pumpkins. The image with the baskets was taken at the Groton, MA farmer's market. I haven't carved a pumpkin for years. Maybe I'll do that again this year.....have to think about it.

Something spooky about crumbling ruins at twilight. You can almost feel the stirrings of things best left unseen.

Hot really "scary" for Halloween, but our granddaughter created some artistically painted pumpkins for us to use as home decor. I "expanded on that a bit my making them available as wall art and home decor items. Blue and White Pumpkins surfing, on the beach and in the dunes.
Note, please, that no pumpkins were harmed in the creation of these images.
