I am a cinematographer. Just like every life, mine has been a long journey of challenges. If it was asked to me what should I be when I was a little child, I would shout to be a Firefighter. It was not meant to be. It was not so easy to become one. I have studied Physics but did not finish the school. The wind has carried me to other realities. Even today I am most interested with everything which has to do with Science and technology. For a while I was studying informatics. It was most interesting but it was not for me. At last I have studied at Dutch Film Academy at the Camera and Light Department and worked with films of various sorts from commercials to short fiction films and lots of documentaries. Film and photography are for me powerfull tools to tell a story. I know there are rules for everything but if I have to tell a story it does not make a difference if I have an unsharp picture or a very bad composition. The story with it's own emotion is the most important element and everything else must bow for it. Light is important but so is darkness. Potentiality of a message shows itself, through the shadows so my attention is also there flowing with the shadows. Life is a mysterious language we all have trouble to understand. Knowing some words of it but not the grammar rules we can do nothing but admire the beautiful stories it tells us.
