As a self taught photographer and artist, Doug Hammerberg (Whispering Peaks Photography) lives in Kalispell Montana which is so close to the beauty of Glacier Park and Yellowstone as well as the Cabinet and Bob Marshall Wilderness, inspiration to create art is with you when you wake each morning and when you go to bed each evening. Great landscapes and plentiful wildlife surround you and sweep you away daily.
When my bride passed away in 2020, she told me to keep being creative. So to keep that promise, I carry my camera on every hike I take. This last year as well I have began painting with acrylics and specialize in abstracts. Abstracts capture the emotion of what I feel. They are from my heart as are my photos. All photos, quotes and poems are mine and copyrighted. No unauthorized use without written permission allowed.
I have a couple series I enjoy the most: Forest Illusions which are done in camera combining long exposure and planned camera movements. Mystic Trout is my other series. Abstracts using photo overlays of various photos, clipped and distorted then placed digitally over a trout graphic. Each comes with its own fish tale.
