Virgil Carter, BWS, PWS, PWCS, TWS, is a watercolor painter, teacher, demonstrator, workshop leader, author and Internet commentator. He paints primarily in watercolor, both en plein aire and from his studio in Boerne, TX. Primarily a representational painter, Virgil paints a variety of subjects, but enjoys most painting landscapes and town/urban subjects. He is concerned with telling stories in paint which share a personal idea, emotion or feeling about each subject. Color and light figure strongly in all of his work.
Virgil is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Texas Watercolor Society and as Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society. He is a member of the Boerne Art League and the Guadalupe Watercolor Group. He is a retired architect and past Head of the School of Architecture, Oklahoma State University.
