I am really drawn to colors in atmospheres.   I love movement in clouds, water stillness and moving, and the wind.   Overcast light is one of my favorite lights for painting scenery, because I love the interesting mixes I can get in grays against brights and I like to layer with lots of colors.   I look for outdoor scenes that have a mood of mystery and make beautiful compositions so that the viewers eye travels around and throughout the painting naturally.   Currently I've been interested in painting portraits of people and isolated places.   I have always been...more
