Here you will find a variety of photographic work I created based on my travels.
In my pictures I'm trying to capture the sense of the places I visited and what I found interesting about them: history, architecture, lifestyle and unique moments. Those seen but not noticed type of things things are among my favorites.
I enjoy both shooting photos and digitally playing with the images for a more artistic look and feel.
The digital era of my life started in 1994, when after migrating to Canada I attended the Computer Graphics section at College Lasalle in Montreal - Oui, je parle francais aussi
Back in Eastern Europe I was a hydro engineer, but doing artistic things was always my passion. I inherited it from my mother who was an artist and opened my mind and heart to this.
I have always been known as a busy person doing something artistic, whether it was painting, fashion design, clay work, or just making greeting cards. In terms of painting, watercolors were and still are my favorites. But I also made quite a few Orthodox icons using various painting techniques. Did I sell? Oh yes: icons, watercolors, greeting cards... I even had several exhibitions with my fashion creations and sold them all with many more requests after :)
My first camera dates back to the 1970s. It was a beautiful Russian machine. I also learned how to develop the photographic films and print my photos.
Life has changed, and using computer technology for artistic creations started to be my new passion. After I graduated I became a computer graphics professional, and I also learned the secrets of web design. I've been doing this for a living for more than 20 years now. In the same time, the microbe for travel and photography has grown and evolved.
I have many thousands of travel photographs taken mainly in North America, but also Central America and Europe, hopefully more to come...
