I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand in the 80s. It was an era of big hair and even bigger personalities. I threw myself into the local scene fronting an original band called 'The Outspoken' as the singer/songwriter. Our material was pretty dark but I expressed my happy side by writing a comic strip called 'Black Stump'. I never made any real progress with either of those endeavors, but I sure had fun.
