Let me introduce myself to you.
I am one moonstruck earthling and that about says it all. But before you run, allow me to rephrase: I am a multimedia artist and transdisciplinary experimenter, a haiku poet and ecstatic dancer. My fascination with the “poetics of orderly chaos”, as I call it, is reflected in my creative endeavors.
I live in Croatia, between Poreč – a small town on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula – and the capital Zagreb – home of the Zagreb School of Animation and the New Tendencies, which both played an important role in my formation, as did my liberal arts studies in Italy, at the “DAMS of Bologna” (the Art, Music and Show Department of the University of Bologna). Over the last decade or more my field of interest has flourished amidst the crossroads of new media, animated cinema and contemporary art.
I was born on December 27, 1978 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where I spent my first six years of life. Due to my mother's illness and my father's ambitiousness, I had the luck of living with my grandparents. During this “magical childhood” they taught me the ways of true humanity, that is love and appreciation for all living and non-living wonders of the Earth. Ever since I have silently worshiped Mother Nature, thereby engaging in all kinds of outdoor activities, such as swimming or hiking, as well as in indoor yoga practice since my early twenties.
My real name is Jana Žufić. Being the World Wide Web such an ephemeral and enchanting stage, not to be taken too seriously, I enjoy constructing and deconstructing my identities, little drops of the endlessly flowing River.
