HOLGER MAJORAHN
Originally trained in design, illustration and advertising, over the years Holger's practice has broadened to use various mediums. Lately he is taking a particular interest in acrylic and sculptures made out of steel.
Holger creates art that depicts life connecting exclusively with nature: something of which can be seen as the reverse result of years of modern,
social and commercial overtakings.
His love for nature/animals is deeply reflected in his paintings. Holger's outgoing personality and unique imagination influences his artistic expression,
often overtly seen through the use of vibrant colours.
'As human beings we all have a distinctive way of adapting to and living in our environment. We convey ourselves in ways that we like to live.'
Holger likes to live in a way that shows respect and gratefulness for nature/animals. He therefore expresses himself artistically in a way that incorporates this important part and way in his life.
Holger has always been fascinated by the magnitude of mountains. As well, the form of a trees/animals is not to be mistaken or over-looked. 'Both creations stand tall like guards, soldiers or simply like Mother Nature’s arms embracing our world.' The sheer size and intricacies of these pieces of
nature enhance Holger's appreciation and reverence for the power of creation in this world.
'Life is a gift which we try to live to the fullest.' Expressing himself through art is exciting and fulfilling, creating and painting is Holger's passion which he ambitiously pursues and is pleased to share.
