I have loved art since high school. I took classes in high school and also some college courses in Florida and Kentucky. I work in many mediums including oil, acrylic, colored pencils and pastels. My favorite medium is colored pencil and I usually paint portraits as my main subject. Pastels are a new medium for me and I have fallen in love with them due to the ease of laying down the color, no messy mixing, beautiful colors and easy clean up.
I worked in a frame shop in Tennessee as a picture framer for 7 years. During that time, I was able to learn about conservation and restoration on picture frames, artwork and old photographs. I worked with a wonderful lady who did restoration on old frames and artwork and she taught me much of what I know today. I have done many shadow boxes framing clothes, jewelry, military medals and even a gun!
I do commissioned portraits in colored pencil and pastel on archival grounds and using lightfast materials. The finished product is sprayed with archival spray fixative. Contact me for information on pricing and I will be happy to complete a portrait for you. Thank you for stopping by!
