I'm Shawna, artist and co-owner of On the Farm, an organic and environmentally friendly farm and art studio in Buchanan, Michigan featuring an eclectic mix of peacocks, poultry, and traditional farm animals which not only contribute to the farm atmosphere, but provide constant inspiration for my art. Tours, classes and gift shop are available by appointment.
The materials I work with include but are not limited to: Photography, watercolors, oil, acrylic, copper, glass, beading, wood and feathers. I find my imagination to be the only boundary to mediums I might select to use, so I am constantly trying out new things. Creating out of recycled materials has yielded some of my favorite works including Tree of Life. As a reflection of my deep respect for this planet, I believe the opportunity to recreate satisfies not only my creative nature, but Mother Nature. My current projects include copper wire sculptures, oil painting, and jewelry.
The many paths I have walked in this life have always brought me back to my art. The deepening of my inner connection to Self enhances evolution of the creative nature of Source within. Art has afforded me the perfect outlet for being in tune with the creative source and allowing that force to flow through me in my creations.
