CELEBRATE COLOR! Color is the energy which radiates in a painting. Color can move you, thrill you, calm you and make you feel life is wonderful.

For many years I was a Midwesterner but now I am a southern artist living in beautiful tropical Florida, an area with many variations in terrain and inhabitants. We have wetlands, ocean, woodlands, farmlands, beautiful unique flowers, birds, exotic alligators and manatees. Nature is a magic combination of beauty and mystery and provides wonderful painting opportunities.

Life is full of mysteries and challenges and I believe in providence, luck, curiosity and taking advantage of opportunities to maximize my creativity. Some ideas come from crazy dreams, a memory or even a word. Color is the unifying element in my artwork.

Art satisfies my love of adventure, creativity and boldness. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose but gee, it’s a fun time. And…there are always those tantalizing mysteries to solve.

I started my art career at a young age, growing up in an artistic family. After a career in the corporate world for many years I changed career and pursued my love of art. University of Illinois Studio Arts B.A.– Major: Painting; Minor: Photography. I continue to take classes and workshops on fun subjects and techniques and participate in local and national art groups and competitions.

I am a female artist, southern artist, watercolor painter, oil painter and acrylic painter. I paint in series format in subjects such as floral, landscape, abstract, contemporary, wildlife and animal paintings, still life, lily ponds, koi fish, Midwest landscapes, Asian art, tropical birds, tropical fish, tropical flowers, Southwest U.S. vistas, pottery, European city and village scenes in colorful expressionist and colorful impressionist colors and styles.
My fine art and nature photography art subjects include birds, animals, fish, flowers, still life, landscape, water scenes, sunsets, autumn colors and water reflections.

I use my photographs as source material for my paintings, many taken from my travels to Europe, Canada and the United States.
