I decided to begin taking photos rather casually nearly 5 years ago.   I had been a professor of philosophy, prior to being compelled to seek disability, as a result of the consequences of a brain tumor: removed, all is good on that particular front.   That was a particularly hard hit, for which I overcompensated by locking myself away in a room and spending my time reading and writing.   I didn't realize it, but I was essentially unconscious to the world around me.   I was living in some type of idealized intellectual world, which was nonetheless essentially masochistic, however...more
