I am a graduate from Texas Tech with a BS in biology and chemistry. I taught biology and physiology for 30 years and have been an artist for 30 years as well. My primary paintings are in oils; however, I will paint in watercolor occasionally when I have a chance. I have won numerous best of show awards in Arkansas and Missouri competitions and have been represneted in galleries in 4 states. I am still humbled by the contemporary works of artists such as Schmid, Weistling, Burdick, Gerhartz and Karen Knowles and they give me reason to paint something that means something !
Growing up in west Texas has given me an appreciation for the beauty and charm of the Ozarks. I have lived in the 'hills' for almost 35 years and still wake up every day and say thank you God for what you have blessed me with! This is an artist paradise and the scenes are unlimited. Surrounded by streams, lakes and countless parks filled with elk, bald eagles, brown bear, deer, and wild turkey---if you can't find something to paint here you probably ain't lookin!
