I made my first mosaic at the age of 8 when I attended Saturday classes at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Over the years, I've dabbled in lots of different medium, but there's something about the color and texture of mosaics that really captures my imagination. Several years ago, I met Mary Lawrence (check out makeitmosaic.com) who gave me some materials and instructions and put me to work. I've never stopped.
