Born in Missouri, my childhood was full of chasing fireflies, climbing trees, riding horses and drawing.   My first art sales were in elementary school and were maps of states and anatomical drawings of bones and organs grossing a net profit $0.25 per drawing.   At age 15, I was hired to draw portraits at Six Flags but I couldn’t start until I turned 16.   Attending college, getting married, having children and a 30 year career as a science and math teacher put my art career on a 40 year hiatus until I retired from teaching in 2019.   Now days, much of my week is spent...more
