Rich Alexander lives in Mt. Kisco, NY with his wife and three children. Rich's journey with fine art started when he met illustrator Alan Reingold in 2010 while designing the September 11th firefighter Memorial in Mt. Kisco, NY. Rich was a Draftsman, Sign shop owner and New York City Firefighter and Alan encouraged him to pursue fine art. Rich studied pencil drawing for two years with Alan at his portrait studio in Mt. In 2010 Rich won first place in the United States Sign Council International Design competition for a sculpture like sign he designed using aluminum and acrylic panels with edge lit LED lighting.
