Reshada Pullen is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts. Reshada has painted using mostly acrylics for over twelve years. Since 1999 she has participated in group shows throughout Virginia and the Metro D.C. Area. In 2003 her performance sculpture piece The Revolution Don’t Pay No Rent” received shocking reviews from the Virginia Commonwealth University Sculpture community. Her first Solo exhibit in 2004 Three Fifths Remained Silent, explored images of black women, stereotypes, commerce and slavery. Shortly after the Haiti’s devastating Earthquake in 2010, Reshada began painting live for fundraisers and other events around the metro D.C. Area. Ms. Pullen currently teaches art for public schools in Washington, D.C., and Prince Georges County. Reshada continues to exhibit, and is the resident artist for Wednesday Verses, a live performance showcase in Washington.
