Penelope Born in Sri Lanka of British Parents- Educated in Kolkata India- (where she got her love of color) Studied Art in Cornwall then design at Central London- Later a FEW months working on set design- then studied film - she went on to work with film director Ken Russell - she worked on several films and TV with different directors and many well known actors - At the end of 2016 decided to retire from film work because of the long working days
of up to 14 hours and loads of driving -Penny then decided to go back to painting which was her first love - Her first exhibition was held at the THE OVER-SEAS LEAGUE in Green Park Central London that was May 2017 then in Nov at the NEHRU CENTRE MAYFAIR London Where the Actress Miriam Margolyes kindly opened the Exhibition- both were successful and in May 2019 will have her Art work hanging at the UNTITLED CHELSEA ARTS FAIR Chelsea London and in April at LORD ROBERTS ON THE GREEN PURLY Surrey - Penny style is a mix of abstract / realism and in mostly oils - now she has started on pastel sketches- very different from oil that is rich in color - pastels although quicker to work with are a tricky medium to get the right shading and light. It is a different technique -but every new medium is exciting and it takes time to get it perfect but then ART is never perfect - you are forever learning
